Community art Project in Loures

“CASA” is a community and arts project working with children from Quinta das Mós in Loures to explore and reimagine the concept of home.
The neighbourhood is culturally diverse and faces significant social and economic challenges, including limited access to activities for children during school holidays.
The project responds to this local need by creating a free, inclusive space for children to gather, learn, and express themselves through art.

Through drawing, painting with natural pigments, and sculpture using recycled materials, the children have collectively imagined what a shared home could be.  In the end, the project culminated with a presentation at Quinta Alegre on 25 July, where we presented the drawings and manifestos resulting from the project. The aim of the Casa project was to encourage a creative appropriation of public space and promote new access to culture in the Quinta das Mos neighbourhood.

Ritualistic Masks

Winner of the Prix Jeune Talent Cercle Artistique de Luxembourg 2026

Séimonni (Sea Uncle) and Bëschtata (Forest Aunt) are two nature spirits embodied through ritual masks. Inspired by both Christian symbolism and earlier pagan traditions connected to nature, the works explore forgotten worlds: the underwater and forest realms. Masks have long served as tools to open a passage between the inner self and the spiritual world, allowing transformation through ritual and representation. These pieces act as reminders that nature is sacred only through the rituals and actions we practice, whether in everyday life or deeper spiritual connection. Like ancestral ritual objects, the masks invite the wearer to become the spirit and embody its presence.
